Gumjung Police Station in Busan arrested a 43-year-old sergeant, working in the Criminal Department, for raping a 15-year-old high school girl he met during an investigation into prostitution conducted through Internet chatting.

Police officers say the sergeant approached the girl Sunday by saying he would by her dinner. After eating and drinking, he stopped his car along the side of the road in the hills around Gisang County and raped her, police say.

The girl was recently questioned by police for having sold herself for sex countless times through Internet chat site since last year.

The police are expected to issue a warrant for his arrest Wednesday on charges of violating the Protection of Juvenile Sex Act.
