The Korea Development Research Center (KDRC) obtained a North Korean internal document Sunday stating that "the capabilities of (South Korean) citizens friendly to North Korea and who express solidarity with communism are superior to anti-communist conservative forces in South Korea. Under the slogan 'Among Ourselves,' South Korean public consciousness of the independence of the nation and anti-Americanism is increasing.Ħħ The KDRC made the document available to the public on its Web site (www.hanbal.com).
The report, published by the Korean Workers Party press, is titled "Concerning the Great Changes in South Korea Following the Historical June 15 North-South Joint Announcement." It is subtitled, "Lecture Material for Executive Members [of the Party] and the Masses."
The document asserts that "Anti-communist conservative forces which were socially mainstream [until now] are being thrown out and progressive activists, who were suppressed and had to hide, are now emerging. After the June 15 North-South Joint Announcement, levels of anti-Americanism and the desire for independence of the South Korean masses have reached unprecedented levels.Ħħ
The report also said, "If the display of the DPRK flag was suppresed before the 6?15 North-South Joint Announcement, today the DPRK flag flutters in the heart of major cities like Busan and Daegu... All those 'incidents' that occured during successive fascist regimes, in which the goverment executed countless patriots by linking their activities to us, are now being renamed, 'suppressive incidents,' and those who managed those incidents are being punished."
