Candlelight Demonstrations Not 'Pure' Cultural Event: Police
Police on Wednesday said, "After analyzing the Tuesday night's candlelight demonstration in Gwanghwamun, we decided that they [the demonstrations] cannot be seen as 'cultural events'... We plan to take legal measures against the event organizers in accordance with laws on assemblies and demonstrations."

Police said demonstration organizers renamed Tuesday night's candlelight vigil the "Impeachment Annulment and Corrupt Politics Liquidation Cultural Festival," and they did not take up road space. When police looked at the speeches, slogan chanting, distributed literature, song lyrics and other things, however, they couldn't find any real difference with Monday's political rally. It was difficult, they concluded, to see the assembly as a "pure" cultural event.
