Korea will get its very first "Nude DVD Set."
Y&S Communication and Namu Entertainment announced Wednesday that the two will buy the copyrights for Seong Hyeon-a, Gweon Min-jung, Lee Hye-yeong, Lee Ju-hyeon's nude photo collections for roughly W70 million won each (W300 million in total) and produce the nation's first "Nude DVD Set."
This was quite a move on the part of the sales companies. Copyrights for foreign film DVDs do not usually cost more that W150 million. One production official, however, pointed out that the set contains not only the four original nude photo books, but also unreleased shots, videos, and other goodies, so the investment value is out of this world.
Entitled "Temptation Of 4 Colors," the DVD set will hit (more like blitz) the shelves on Feb. 10. The production companies that produced these nude photo collections had started with mobile service distribution with the hopes of eventually releasing them in DVD form, but so far, none of them have been released as DVDs. This DVD set will be the first.
Since there's quite a difference between preparing photos for mobile service use and preparing them for DVD use, Y&S and Namu have been putting their hearts and souls into adapting the images for use on HD-level DVDs for the last two and half months, beginning after the companies purchased the copyrights in late December. The producers said that a famous local composer did the background music for the DVD set, and after completion it was a work of art second to none.
The set's five DVDs contain all four models' photos and videos. In total, they run roughly two hours and contain over 2,000 photos.
A large number of shots left off the mobile and Internet service releases are known to be included.
Of course, some express concern. "These photos have already been released through mobile and Internet services. Won't they simply get swallowed up in the market?", "This nude thing is causing ill effects. Isn't this project excessive?"
Nevertheless, the entertainment world is taking note of "Temptation Of 4 Colors," as the so-called "hi-quality nude collection" may bring back to life a nude photo market that has suffered terribly as a result of the "Lee Seung-yeon Comfort Women Nude" scandal.
