A flood of emotions ran through the hearts of the people as they experienced a 300 kilometer or 162 mile per hour high-speed train for the first time in their lives. The test drive came after ribbons were cut for a new train station in Seoul on Thursday, four months ahead of the launch of Korea's first bullet train service.

The Seoul-Busan High Speed Railway, scheduled to start operating in April, will shorten travel time for many, which analysts perceive as a new form of economic development.
A trip from Seoul to Daejeon will take around 50 minutes and those traveling to Busan and Mokpo departing from Seoul need only spend less than 3 hours on the train.
This marks a new era for Korea's railway history which first began over a century ago when trains used to travel at a speed of 100 kilometers or 54 miles per hour.
Experts say the launching of the express train will bring innovative changes to the nation's economy as well as revolutionize Korea's engineering and technology industries.
The daily test drives, aimed to review the security and stability of the bullet train, will take place until the official launch in April.
