A computer virus alert is in effect. Local vaccine companies warned Tuesday a new virus known as Mimail has been detected. Officials say the new worm arrives in the form of an e-mail disguised as a notice from PayPal an online payment service run by the global aution site eBay.
The title of the message says "Problems with your PayPal account" and claims the company is implementing a new security policy instructing the user to open a program attached to the file and type in personal information including credit card numbers.
Once executed, the data will be forwarded to the hacker while copies of the virus will be sent to other e-mail addresses stored on the computer. To prevent infection you can download free vaccine programs by logging on to the site now shown on your screen
