Daewoo Shipbuilding Eyes Overseas Output
Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME), one of the top shipbuilding firms in Korea, said Tuesday that it plans to build and operate five or six production plants overseas within the next five years. The firm also plans to overhaul its personnel management system next year.

Chung Sung-lip, the CEO of the firm, said that in the next five years, the shipbuilder would concentrate on strengthening its existing operations, and that the firm is planning afterwards to build and operate five or six shipbuilding plants in various Asian countries, including Japan, China, and Vietnam.
