Roh Mute About Dispatch Decision

No More Free Lunch by Yang Sang-hoon
President Roh Moo-hyun, speaking about the U.S. request that Seoul dispatch combat troops to Iraq on Tuesday, saying, ¡°It is not a simple problem and I will go over it prudently,¡± reported Cho Young-dong, chief of the Government Information Agency.

At a cabinet meeting held at Cheong Wa Dae in the morning, Roh said, ¡°Certain media outlets are reporting as if we will dispatch troops. I would prefer not to have those reports go out.¡±

The Cheong Wa Dae spokesman Yoon Tai-young interpreted this comment, saying, ¡°The president stressed that no decisions have been made on dispatching troops and that there are no inclinations to either side.¡±
