The professional golfer Han Hee-won and the Doosan Bears baseball pitcher Sohn Hyuk will marry Dec. 20, they announced Sunday.
After throwing out the first ball of the game between the Bears and the Hyundai Unicorns on Sunday, Han told reporters in the Jamsil Stadium's interview room about the wedding plans. She said that the couple¡¯s familes had met during the Chuseok holidays, and finalized their wedding date.
The couple will continue to concentrate on their professional careers after the marriage, even at the price of staying apart for the most of the season, Han said.
Han, who has won two LPGA titles this year, will leave Korea for the United States on Wednesday to finish up the season, then come back to Korea for the wedding. Right after their honeymoon, however, Han has to leave for the United States again for her winter training program.
Sohn, who was missed much of this season due to a shoulder injury, is focusing on his rehabilitation program to prepare for next season. Despite the injury, he said he is happy - because he has Han to cheer him up.
After Han threw out the first ball, Sohn came out to the mound to give her flowers.
