Even off the Course, Grace's Earnings Soar
Grace Park, who won the Michelob Light Open by a stroke in May, will be advertising hair products on television. Park has received over $1 million this season, second best on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association tour. And now, Park has set a record for a shampoo endorsement by receiving W400 million ($350,000) for a single shampoo commercial.

After finishing off the LPGA British Open, Park came to Korea to shoot the ad at the Proctor and Gamble Korea commercial in Bundang, Gyeonggi province Monday through Wednesday. As a custom, the exact numbers were not discussed but it has been said that Park received W400 million for commercial, which will run six months. Until now, the singer Lee Hyo-ri from the pop group FINKL had the record for a single shampoo commercial at W200 million.

"In other commercials, only the front side of you needs to look pretty, but in advertising hair products, you have to look good from the behind as well," said Park. "I never thought shooting a commercial would be this hard."

Park will be participating in the Korean Open in Busan early next month. (Cho Jeong-hun, donjuan@chosun.com )
