The current regulation that requires those who post messages on government and public organizations' web sites to use their real names is likely to be expanded soon to private portal sites.
The Ministry of Information and Communication said Friday that it held a conference with the representatives of four portal operators, such as Daum Communications, Yahoo! Korea, NHN, and NeoWiz, and the representatives agreed to support a drive to spread real-name Internet regulations to the private sector and to create an e-mail network for youth.
Currently, 15 government ministries, including the MOIC, have already adopted the real-name posting system, and the system is expected to spread this year to all of the government's 22 ministries.
