Those posting individual opinions on government and public organizations' Internet sites are to be required to use their real names, and all new personal computers are to have a computer virus vaccine installed before marketing.
In a briefing to President Roh Moo-hyun on Friday, the Ministry of Information and Communication (MOIC) said that the practice of using fake names on the Internet has been increasing, often impinging on human rights. To rein in such practices, the ministry is to require that posters use their real names on the website bulletin boards of various government and public organization, to start with, and for the private sector later on.
Currently, nine government ministries, including the MOIC, have already adopted the real-name posting system, and the system is expected to spread to all of the government's 22 ministries within this year.
