Boycott Korea

This is a copy of a letter that is being sent across America. Just wanted Korea to know.

Dear Sir,

This is a short note from a concerned citizen living in and defending South Korea. I am sure you have heard many voices talking about pulling US soldiers out of Korea. I can site many reasons this needs to happen. If you will have some of your staff look at the following web sites I am sure you will see the true feelings of the Korean people.

www.voiceofpeople.org
www.antimigun.org

These sites are on the public domain therefore they are condoned by the Korean government. As you will see from some of the people interviewed they are also widely supported by the entertainment industry of Korea as well. The new President of South Korea has also in the past signed a document demanding the withdrawal of American forces from Korea. What will it take for the American public to see we are no longer wanted in South Korea. Many people in America are starting to boycott many Korean products. I hope you will take the time to look into this matter for all the soldiers and civilian that are currently in Korea.

We have all seen the power of peaceful demonstrations in America, however here in Korea they are not peaceful at all. In the past two weeks there have been 6 attacks against Americans walking or exercising in South Korea. These are just the ones that have been reported by the press. I have had two different experiences in the past month. The first was at one the largest markets in Daegu, my family and I were out shopping there when we tried to enter two shops we were told there was nothing there for us. After that we were followed by three angry looking Korean men. The second time it was in the same market when one other shop again told us there was nothing for Americans there.

I have served around the world in many different places and nowhere have I felt that I and my family were in more danger than I do now. To make matters worse my wife is Korean and she does not feel safe walking down the street with her family. The radical students use to be the only ones we had to worry about, but now it is the average Korean. My 62 year old mother came for a visit and has been here for two months but has not been able to go out and walk around the town with her grandchildren because of the fear.

There are more demonstrations planned for Dec 31st and Jan 1st, which means Americans will not be able to go out and enjoy the New Year holiday. This is no way for Americans anywhere to live. Our country has been built on certain freedoms but here in Korea they are being taken away. The soldiers over here are your sons and daughters here to defend a people that no longer want them.

It is time the United States comes together to show just how much our children mean to us. Since the Korean people want us out then by all means we should be withdrawn as soon as possible. I am sending this letter to any and all American newspapers that will listen. I am also asking all Americans who see it to pass it on to as many people as you can. We have to get the word out to all Americans ASAP. All Korean products should be boycotted, also many Koreans in America are supporting this view of American hate. For those of you who do business with Koreans in the US be careful. The situation is grave at this time, please help those of us that have to remain here.
