Two of country's minor contenders were out in full force Wednesday in attempts to broaden their support base, as a third, independent candidate Chang Se-dong, announcing he was pulling out of the race. The 66-year old former intelligence chief said in a statement he decided to quit because he sees little chances of getting elected since Lee Hoi-chang and Roh Moo-hyun are locked in a tight two-way race.
But the others are trudging forward in hopes of expanding voter support in the capital. The Hanaro National Union's Lee Han-dong is making rounds in downtown Seoul and college districts, while Kim Young-kyu of the Socialist Party is visiting major train stations and downtown areas.
