Candidates Make Last-Ditch Efforts

The three major candidates, vying to become the new millennium's first Korean leader, are back on the campaign trail Tuesday, just a day after a third and final crucial television debate. The Grand National Party's Lee Hoi-chang is making last-minute efforts to woo voters in Chungcheong Province, touring Cheongju and Cheonan.

Over in the metropolitan area, Lee's main opponent Roh Moo-hyun of the Millennium Democratic Party is scheduled to hold stumping rallies in the afternoon, starting from southern Seoul's Gangnam Station. Roh will then move onto cities in Gyeonggi Province, including Seongnam and Ilsan.

The Democratic Labor Party's Kwon Young-ghil, meanwhile, will visit Gyeongnam Province's Changwon and Ulsan, and urge voters there to support his party.
