Lawmaker Kang Seong-ku, who quit the Millennium Democratic Party earlier this month, joined the Grand National Party Wednesday boosting the opposition's National Assembly seats to 149, following the return of Park Keun-hye to the party on November 19.

Two United Liberal Democrat representatives, Song Kwang-ho and Chung Woo-taek are expected to join the GNP by the end of the week.
