According to the results of the ¡®2002 World Cup Viewing Style By Country¡¯ by Nielson Media Research announced, Thursday, and covering 18 countries, the most watched match was the final between Brazil and Germany with 62,571,000, followed by the semi-finals between Korea and Germany (52,280,000), and Brazil and Turkey (47,682,000). The Korea against Italy game was fourth with 45,272,000 and Germany versus the US came fifth at 40,996,000.
Korea rated the highest program ratings according to country at 16% followed by Malaysia and Singapore at 12%, China 11%, Indonesia 9%, Thailand 7%, and the US 1%. The greatest total number of viewers went to Thailand (263,915,000), which was slightly more than Korea (263,789,000). China came in 3rd place at 262,945,000. The match, which had the highest ratings in Korea was the match against Poland at 56%.
