Korean Football Association Chairman Chung Mong-jun announced Thursday, that they the organization will pay W300 million to each of the 23 member squad of the national team. The KFA originally held a directors' meeting on July 2 and decided to divide the players into three groups and pay bonuses accordingly, but this was met with the opposition from fans and the players. The prize money will be awarded at 2:00pm on July 5.
The KFA said that it respected grading as a basic rule, but had decided to award the players equally since the reaching the World Cup semifinals was an unprecedented event.
