Hyundai Motor, the official sponsor of the 2002 World Cup soccer games, is to donate its top-class passenger car to each of the Korean team's coaching staff and players for reaching the semi-finals.
Manager Guus Hiddink will receive the Equus, Hyundai's top passenger model, and all the assistant coaches and players will get the New Grandeur XG, the largest automaker said Sunday.
The firm had made a pledge on April 25 that it would present the New Grandeur XG to the manager and the New EF Sonata to the rest if the Korean team advanced to the Round of 16, but it hiked the grades of the cars after the team far exceeded this target.
Hyundai said that the number of cars to be donated totals 27 units, worth about W1.1 billion.
