World Cup to Appear in School Textbooks

From the second semester of this year, images of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Games will be featured in primary and secondary school textbooks. The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development said Monday, the social science textbook for sixth graders in elementary schools will carry information about the soccer gala, while the covers of supporting text materials will feature images of the national cheering squad, the Red Devils. In addition, descriptions and images of the World Cup are to be updated in other teaching materials for ethics, art and physical education.
