An energized Tunisia rallied for a worthy 1:1 tie Tuesday against a Belgian side that have found it impossible to win thus far in the 2002 World Cup Finals. Captain Marc Wilmots put Belgium ahead in the 13th minute after Gert Verheyen laid off a header to him at the edge of the box. However Tunisia fought back and a superbly curled free kick from Raof Bouzaine gave them the draw in the 17th minute.
The Belgians now have to beat Russia in their last match to have any chance of qualifying after tying with Japan in an earlier match Group H is wide open with Japan, who face Tunisia in their final match on top with four points following a victory over Russia, in second place with three, Belgium with two and Tunisia with one.
