Government to Crackdown on Anti US Protests
The government is preparing counter measures following intelligence reports that anti-US organizations are planning demonstrations around the World Cup stadiums that Team USA plays in, including Daegu where Korea faces the American team. Monday.

Government Information Agency chief Shin Jung-sik announced Friday that related government agencies are collaborating to produce a comprehensive plan in order to keep Monday's match from any untoward incidents. In addition, the National Police Agency¡¯s Cyber Terrorism Response Center has undertaken a crackdown on the distribution of anti-US rumors through online media.

As some labor and protest organizations are reportedly planning "sneak demonstrations" at the match on Monday, the NPA will concentrate its forces around the Daegu Stadium area. A government official said that the NPA would strictly control any violence by over-excited Korean supporters.
