The South Korean government and KOWOC are taking joint steps to ensure there are no mishaps during the South Korea vs. United States match, to be held in Daegu on June 10.
The government is taking extra precaution as it fears the massive Korean crowd could go wild after the game, which is important for both sides as it will likely decide whether they will make it into the Round of 16.
Regarding the measures, a government official said Thursday that a small incident could explode into a massive mishap and that is why the government decided to map out a comprehensive measure as early as possible. He also noted the government would deploy more security guards at Daegu World Cup Stadium and Sejongro, Seoul, near the US embassy, where many Red Devil fans come out to watch the game on the large outdoor screens.
The government is also planning to ask for the cooperation of each university against possible student movements, and the cooperation of the Red Devils and the people.
The government has been deploying extra security for the US soccer team during their practices and games.
