Daegu and its citizens have already switched on the ignition for cheering Team Korea in its match against the United States that will take place there on June 10, with the city government ordered 20,000 red T-shirts to distribute for free to those entering the stadium. The "Red Devil" members of Daegu will join the 2,500 members around the country and 2,500 members from 011, KT, and SK Telecom to wave a large Korean flag.
The World Cup Support Team in Daegu will set up a large screen (8m x 5.8m) at a park in Jung-gu Dongin1-ga for those residents and guests who do not have tickets for the game, and will also open Duryu Baseball Stadium, which has a capacity for 20,000.
Kyongbuk University and Yongnam University will set up a multi-vision and beam projector at the amphitheater as a joint project of the school administration and student union. Universities, which have final exams on the day of the games are considering postponing these at the request of students and schools are positively going over plans to cancel lectures or shorten class times.
Also, after the US beat Portugal 3:2, the Korea-US match will be a key one in deciding whether Korea will enter the final 16 and so ticket prices for the game have jumped. Some companies say they will "buy tickets whatever the price" but it is hard to find one. Before the match with Poland 1st class seats were W500,000 won (original price W192,000 won) but tickets for the US game are almost W1.7 million.
