Street Festival Set to Watch Korea Game
Korea's opening game against Poland on June 4 will be will be relayed through the Chosun Ilbo's screen on the Koreana Hotel in Gwanghwamun at 7:00pm with members of the Red Devils cheering squad in attendance. Sponsored by Kookmin Bank and supported by the Chosun Ilbo, Sports Chosun, and Digital Chosun Ilbo, the event includes performances by popular Korean singers and handouts of ¡®Red Devil¡¯ uniforms and gifts. Some 1,000 Red Devil members and residents are expected to participate and if Korea scores fireworks, confetti and ribbon cannons will be set off.

In preparation for the festival, 3-4 lanes next to the sidewalk will be closed from 4:00pm to 10:30pm and the Chosun Ilbo will provide 1,000 air cushions, 1,000 glow-sticks, and 500 ponchos, in case of rain, on a first come first serve basis. Similar street festivals will take place on June 10 and June 14 when Korea plays against the US and Portugal.

Screens will also be set up at the Peace Park in the World Cup Park, Mapo Culture Center, the Han River Park in Yoido, Jangchung Gymnasium, Jamshil Baseball Stadium, the Peace Plaza in Olympic Park, Dongdaemun Stadium and Maronie Park in Daehakno.
