Many Koreans believe the most significant aspect of the upcoming 2002 FIFA World Cup games is to promote Korea and its image to the world according to a survey by a leading private think tank. Samsung Economic Research Institute recently polled some 5,700 of its members on-line asking them what they thought was the most meaningful aspect of the soccer gala. Results released, Friday show over half the respondents singled out national image. Nearly 22% placed an emphasis on a successful hosting and management of the games, while around 20% said it was most important for Team Korea to make it into the second round.
