Ulsan is known as a beautiful port city in the southeastern corner of the peninsula, the industrial capital of Korea and a unique city of industrial complexes built in the middle of a greenbelt at the heart of which is the Munsu World Cup Stadium. Affectionately known as "the big crown," a reference to a famous golden crown of the ancient Shilla Dynasty, the Munsu World Cup Stadium's beauty and simplicity makes it a perfect symbol for the people and city of Ulsan and has been praised as one of the finest sporting arena's in the world.
The Munsu Stadium is exclusively a soccer venue and visitors from Japan that are touring each of the 20 stadiums in the World Cup host cities have commented that Ulsan is the best in terms of providing spectators a clear view of the match. It also boasts a state-of-the-art giant screen and 25 enormous speakers for fans to enjoy every aspect of the game.
The city's top junior high school players have gathered at the Munsu Stadium training field for a workshop with Everaldo da Silva, the coach of the under-13 national team and some of them will make it onto the youth national team and perhaps someday carry the hopes of the entire city.
"I'm extremely happy, not only because I've been chosen for the under-13 youth national team, but because I get to train on this wonderful field with the Brazilian coach. Someday I want to become a great player like Kim Byong-ji," said on hopeful.
With Team Brazil scheduled to play in Ulsan, visitors can bet on a party atmosphere as Brazilians are world renowned for their enthusiasm, and that's no exception for the community of expatriates in Ulsan.
