Hyundai Asan, the Hyundai group subsidiary in charge of the Mt. Kumgang tour project, said Wednesday that it will offer a 15 percent discount in the tour fee for foreigners.
The company also said that interpreters for foreign tourists will be allowed to take the tour for free and a block of tickets will be earmarked for foreign tourists.
Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO), the state-run tour agency and an investment partner for the inter-Korea tour project, will be in charge of the sales of the discount tickets, Hyundai Asan said.
Hyundai Asan said that the special discount program is aimed at foreigners traveling to South Korea for the World Cup in June.
A total of 1,600 foreign nationals have made the trip since November 1998, when the tour began, the Hyundai unit said.
