Former national football coach, Cha Bum-Keun's sons, Cha Du-ri and Cha Sej-ji will be on the same field during the World Cup games with the latter selected as a part of the official ball staff, while his elder brother is part of the Korean squad. "I'm glad I can watch my big brother play as a national player up close," enthused Sej-ji.
Sejji will work in the Korea-France warm up game on May 26 and the Korea-Portugal match on June 14. A first year student at Daejeon International High School, he wistfully said, "I want to be part of all the matches where Korea plays, but I have to miss a few games because of exams at school."
Sejji applied for the ball staff post last April through the Internet and was picked in consideration of his unique family. Former coach Cha's eldest daughter, Ha-na, will work as an English interpreter for England's BBC Sports Broadcasting.
