Special Light Show Set for World Cup

Seoul metropolitan government announced Tuesday that light shows will decorate the nights of Sejong Road from 8:00pm to 12:00am from Wednesday to June 25, projecting various images on landmarks in downtown streets, such as Gwanghwa Gate and the statue of Admiral Lee Sun-shin. A ¡°Flower Gate,¡± ¡°Venice Gate,¡± and ¡°Eiffel Tower¡± will be projected onto Gwanghwa Gate in two-minute intervals, and a ¡°Light Boat¡± representing Admiral Lee¡¯s naval command will flash on the center divider of Sejong Road.

The dazzling event is the work of internationally renowned lighting specialist Scherzo of France. Mayor of Seoul Goh Kun and French Ambassador to Korea Francois Descoueyte will attend the opening at a lighting ceremony at 8:00pm Wednesday.
