The Paradise Olympos Hotel in Incheon said Friday it was working hard on behalf of the French football team's request to change rooms because of the noise from cargo loading at the port's 8th quay opposite the hotel. French team players and officials are scheduled to stay at the hotel on June 10, a day before their heat with Denmark to be held in Munhak Stadium, Incheon on June 11 at 3:30pm.
Team officials who checked hotel rooms, after reservation, are very much concerned about any possible harm to the players' condition due to the noise and asked the hotel to change some rooms opposite the quay. In response to this, the hotel is looking at ways to prevent noise pollution from the quay during matches at the Incheon stadium.
A hotel manager said the issue could be a humiliation for both Incheon and the country as a whole, adding that even though the hotel would make every effort for the convenience of the soccer team internally, the Maritime and Fisheries Administration has to aggressively come out for external matters.
The administration plans to send an official letter to the cargo companies stationed in the eight quay to ask them not to work in the evening from during June 7 to the 14th, when national teams stay in Incheon for their matches.
