Seoul metropolitan government announced Friday, that it would give away 360,000 subway tickets in commemoration of the World Cup to those holding tickets to the three matches to be played in Seoul. The tickets, printed with the World Cup and Seoul logos, are useable on all subway lines in the capital, regardless of district.
Residents can get the subway tickets from the Housing and Commercial Bank, which is also selling World Cup admission tickets, while foreign visitors can apply for them in designated places such as Incheon International Airport by presenting their World Cup tickets.
Seoul will also issue 30,000 pre-paid bus and subway tickets valued at W5,000 to 12,000 foreign correspondents. In addition 18,000 tickets will be available for other World Cup visitors at subway stations, bus depots and information booths offering a 20% discount.
