Daejon to Offer Temple Experience During World Cup

Daejon local government announced Friday it was designating four famous temples in and around the city as special accommodation during the 2002 World Cup Finals, to allow visitors to sample Buddhist culture.

The four temples are Gwangsusa, which can house 80 people in ten rooms; Su-un with three rooms for 20 people; and Gapsa, sleeping 40 in six rooms; all in Yuseong-gu; and Hakrimsa in Gongju city with five rooms for 30.

Staying one night in one of the temples, foreign tourists will be able to taste temple food and experience Buddhist culture such as meditation in Zen Buddhism, a mass, tea ceremony and mountain walking.
