 Sony Music announced Wednesday Korean boy band 'g.o.d' took part in the "World Cup International Album," one of the official albums for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan scheduled for release worldwide on April 8 with 20 tracks from artists representing numerous countries qualified for the final stages of the FIFA World Cup.
A Sony Music official said, "g.o.d sang "True East Side" written by Park Jin-young, which features traditional hip-hop style with a more western beat, compared to Korean pops."
Two official albums are to be released; the international album and a local album targeting South Korea and Japan.
The boy band are the first Korean musicians to join the international album going on sale worldwide. Participants in the international album include popular artists such as Jennifer Lopez of America, Lai Ming of China, Mondogroso of Japan as well as g.o.d. "Boom," the official song of the 2002 FIFA World Cup performed by Anastasia is also included on the album.
