CNNSI.com, the online site of CNN/Sports Illustrated, announced its World Cup Power Ranking Wednesday, rating Korea 27th out of 32 countries competing in the World Cup Finals. CNNSI evaluated that "home-field advantage boosts Guus Hiddink's side, which has never won a World Cup game in six trips." The three other teams in group D, alongside Korea were ranked higher; Portugal at sixth, Poland at 16th and the US at the 25th.
Argentina topped the list, followed by France, Italy, Brazil and England, while Japan was ranked highest among Asian nations in 21st place. Saudi Arabia and China were rated the weakest teams, positioned at 31st and 32nd respectively.
