The government and ruling party leadership met at the prime minister's office Saturday to fine tune their US and North Korea policies, ahead of US President George W. Bush's three-day visit to Seoul next week. Sources said both sides saw eye to eye that Wednesday's summit between Presidents Kim Dae-jung and Bush must pave the way for strengthening the alliance between Seoul and Washington, as well as establishing peace and stability on the Korean peninsula. The two sides also agreed that the issue of Pyeongyang's alleged proliferation of weapons of mass destruction must be solved through dialogue.
