The National Assembly's Construction and Transportation Committee passed a revision Friday to the Aviation Service and Security Law, which will impose a W1 million fine on aircraft passengers who use either a laptop PC or a cell phone, or smoke, yell, attack others after taking drugs or drinking intoxicants, and harass female flight attendants sexually. The revision bill will be presented shortly to the National Assembly.
Other revisions include an up to three year prison sentence, or W5 million fine for those who stage occupations of planes and a one year jail term and W5 million fine for people attempting to enter an aircraft's cockpit. In addition hazardous material definitions have been broadened and passengers' rights to claim damages expanded.
