Premier to Call for Stronger UN Response to Terror

The Korean Premier will call for a stronger United Nations response to global terrorism when he visits New York this weekend. Prime Minister Lee Han-dong embarks on a six-day trip to the US Thursday to give a keynote speech at the UN General Assembly. He will reaffirm Seoul's commitment to the global anti-terrorism campaign and press for stronger measures.

In a meeting with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Lee plans to outline the latest developments on the Korean Peninsula and garner support for the government's Sunshine Policy of engaging North Korea. Talks with his Mongolian and Romanian counterparts are also on his itinerary.
