Diplomats from some ten countries, including the US, UK and Pakistan, and international relations experts attended an ¡®International Conference on Terrorism, World Peace and Development,¡¯ hosted by Ehwa Womans University¡¯s Graduate School of International Studies, Tuesday.
At the conference held at the LG Convention Hall of the university's International Education Building, foreign diplomats from countries including Saudi Arabia and Belgium, former foreign minister Han Sung-joo; Cho Young-jin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade; and Moon Chung-in, Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies at Yonsei University discussed the terrorist attacks on US cities and the series of retaliatory strikes on Afghanistan.
Arden Starling, publicist of the US embassy, insisted that the terrorist attacks on the US cannot be justified for any reason, and the US will continue its combat against terrorism until terrorist activities are exterminated. Pakistani ambassador Tariq Osman Hyder pointed out that the Islamic religion and terrorism are two separate issues, and he is afraid that innocent civilians of Afghanistan are suffering from the war, while the US decision for the strike is understandable.
