The first batch of South Korean aid for Afghan refugees in Pakistan, worth US$1million, arrived in Islamabad Saturday at an air force bases, and was delivered to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The aid delivered by five Korean Air Force C-130s, included 7,500 Korean-made rugs, 2,000 tents, and 1,000 articles of winter clothing, and was handed over by Yoon Ji-joon, the South Korean ambassador to Pakistan to Philip Carani, the vice representative of UNHCR team. The second batch of aid supplies is expected to be delivered in early November by ship.
