Concerts by American rock and roll legends The Eagles, scheduled to be held in Seoul and Busan on October 27 and 28, have been put back to December in the aftermath of the tragic terrorist attacks on New York and Washington in September.
Korea Music, the promoters of the performance, announced Tuesday that the band had requested the postponement to the end of December in a letter of apology following the cancellation of their Australia and New Zealand tour schedule right after the terrorist attacks. The EaglesĄŻ Busan performance was to be part of a celebration event for 2002
Related officials in the concert promotions industry say that a number of scheduled concerts have been canceled as American pop stars avoid international tours, which require air travel, after the attacks. The Eagles are especially cautious since one of the members lost his stepmother in the tragedy. As an increasing number of pop artists, including Paul McCartney and Richie Blackmore, have modified their international tours, foreign artists are expected to make even less appearances if US-led retaliatory actions are prolonged, to the disappointment of Korean music lovers.
