Exports of Korean instant noodles hit an all-time high last year, breaking the previous year's record.
The Korea Customs Service said on Monday the country exported almost US$607.9 million of instant noodles in the first 11 months of 2021, up 10.6 percent from a year earlier.
The figure is already higher than the previous record of $603.6 million seen in 2020 and is more than three times higher than it was a decade ago.
The rise is mainly attributed to the lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic and the growing international popularity of Korean food.
China was the largest overseas market, buying $133.4 million worth of noodles, followed by the U.S. ($77.6 million) and Japan ($58.8 million).
