Roughly one in five children, teenagers and young adults have felt depressed amid the prolonged coronavirus pandemic, a recent survey shows.
The National Youth Policy Institute surveyed 4,347 people between the ages of 9 and 24 in September and October.
Some 22 percent of respondents said they frequently felt hopeless and depressed due to the pandemic, while 45 percent said they were stressed. The pandemic also affected daily habits with nearly 62 percent saying their smartphone usage time had increased. Around 38 percent said their sleeping patterns had become irregular.
