Three out of every 10 Koreans want to travel overseas within a year, preferably to Hawaii, Australia and Germany.
Credit card company Visa conducted a poll in 14 countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region last year and this year to gauge how they feel about resuming travel.
Overall four out of 10 consumers in the region wanted to go on an overseas trip within the next 12 months, but in Korea the proportion grew from 27 percent in November 2020 to 32 percent this September.
Hawaii, Australia, Germany, Russia, the U.S., the Philippines and Indonesia were the top choices of Koreans.
Visa said consumers are giving priority to safety when traveling overseas amid the coronavirus pandemic and prefer shorter trips.
