Korea and Singapore will recognize each other's vaccine passports as they open to mutual travel again next Monday, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said on Thursday.

Korean travelers will need a vaccine certificate issued by the KDCA or a digital certificate from its mobile app COOV.

This is the first time Korea recognizes a vaccine certificate submitted by foreigners, and the first time the COOV app is recognized overseas.

People who want to travel must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before boarding and have a negative COVID-19 PCR test and a travel insurance policy. Accompanying children under 6 will not have to submit either a vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test result but will be tested on arrival.

Meanwhile, the daily tally of new infections stood at 2,368 with 475 severe cases as of Friday morning.
