North Korea conducted its third missile launch in a month on Tuesday morning.
The short-range projectile was fired into the East Sea at around 6:40 a.m., South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said. No further details were immediately available, the JCS said, adding that South Korean and U.S. intelligence authorities are analyzing it.
Earlier this month, North Korea launched two short-range ballistic missiles from a train.
The fresh launch came just days after the North signaled willingness to talk about another inter-Korean summit if South Korea shows it "respect."
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's sister Yo-jong last week welcomed President Moon Jae-in's proposal at the UN General Assembly to declare a formal end to the Korean War that ended in a truce in 1953.
