Korea ranks in eighth place in the world in terms of investment appeal but last among five major Asian economies, according to the 2021 Global Attractiveness Index compiled by consulting group European House Ambrosetti.
Korea scored 81.26 points to rank eighth among 148 countries based on an assessment of four macro areas -- openness, innovation, endowment and efficiency.
The U.S. topped the list followed by Germany. China ranked third as the most-attractive Asian economy, while Japan came fourth, Singapore sixth and Hong Kong seventh.
Korea's ranking is unchanged from last year but its score edged down from 81.54 points.
