It looks like Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur will be sidelined from the club's Premier League matches for the time being due to his calf injury.
Tottenham Hotspur lost 3-0 to Crystal Palace in an away match last week, its first loss of the season after three consecutive wins.
The effect of Son's absence was visible, and Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo said, "[Son] is not so well. Let's wait for the club to make the announcement."
Son felt a strain in his right calf during training after Korea's 0-0 draw against Iraq in Seoul on Sept. 2 in the first match of the final round of Asian qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
After he was diagnosed with a muscle sprain, Son sat out Korea's match against Lebanon in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province on Sept. 7. He underwent another medical check in London, but Spurs have yet to make an announcement on the result.
If Son is sidelined for a long time, it will pose a big headache for Korea's national team, which is slated to play two World Cup qualifiers next month.
Kwon Chang-hoon of Suwon Samsung is also injured and is expected to miss at least four weeks due to a micro-rupture of his right calf muscle.
