Korea Kicks off Quest for Olympic Baseball Gold

    Korea begins its Summer Olympic baseball campaign in Tokyo on Thursday with its sights set on a gold medal.

    Korea is set to play Israel in its first preliminary game at Yokohama Stadium at 7 p.m.

    Pitcher Won Tae-in will start for Korea, while former Major League Baseball right-hander Jon Moscot will take the mound for Israel, whose lineup includes eight players with MLB experience.

    Korea won gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament.
