Korea drew with Argentina in a warm-up match just ahead of the Summer Olympics, which are set to begin in Tokyo next week.
In the match held in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province on Tuesday, Argentina took an early lead with an opening goal in the 12th minute, but Korea stayed on the offensive and ended the first half with the score tied thanks to midfielder Lee Dong-young's goal in the 35th minute.
However, just 10 minutes into the second half, Argentina netted another goal to recapture the lead. With a series of mistakes in defense, there seemed to be no hope of a turnaround, but winger Um Won-sang managed to score an injury-time equalizer to end the match with a 2-2 draw.
The Korean squad, led by Kim Hak-bum, manager of the men's U-23 national football team, will have another warm-up match with France, this time in Seoul, on Friday before heading to Japan the following day.
